Change. Who likes it?

Change. Who likes it?

June 05, 20241 min read

Not me! I tend to feel, as do many of us, stupid, incompetent, awkward, irritated, annoyed, and definitely fearful when change shows up at my door.

When I am the target of the change? I might as well be standing nekkid in the square without anything to cover me up. It’s just miserable at first.

On the other hand, if I am the agent or the initiator of the change, I feel a little to a lot better. I’m in charge of it, so I have more control. I get to make the choices, I get to change them, and I have less fear.

The only time I like change is when I choose it, I plan it, and it goes the way I want it to. Then I get excited, and I feel optimistic and hopeful about the outcome.

How about you? How are you at “swimming upstream”?
