The Untyer of Knots

The Untyer of Knots

Back in January, I reopened my coaching practice. I’d gotten a number of calls, and while I’ve been doing one-off work with folks, I’d let it go.

It’s interesting to think of this journey. I’ve watched “Mary the Untyer of Knots” pop up over and over again, in my feed and other places.

In reading about “untyers of knots” from the early Ancient Near East and Mesopotamia through medieval Christianity, Buddhism and forward this seems like an ever-present concept. Someone who has exceptionally developed spirituality helps others by untying energetic and spiritual knots through prayer, meditation, instruction, and practice.

How wonderful--to intercede for another to help unravel the hair balls of life. To help them smooth the fibers and ply them into sturdy threads for scaling new heights, lashing down symbolic rubbish on its' way to the heap, supporting new growth and even stitching up symbolic wounds.

My work is as an “untyer of knots.” Whether I am coaching, facilitating or speaking, there’s a knot that I am working on. It might be individual, or collective and it’s there.

If you know you have knots, I’m here. Reach out!
