Plop Plop Fizz Fizz? Slop Slop Whizz Whizz?

Oh, what a relief it is (with apologies to Alka Seltzer). Or not. One big holiday in the US (last week) down. Who knows how many are left to go for everyone who may celebrate others along the way.

The next big one is, for most people, Christmas and Hanukkah.

How’d you do? What did you do different? I made changes--I used to get a lot of invitations, and because I let people know I was being holy and praying all day, those invitations became easier to avoid if I needed to.

This year? A good friend was in town with a new fellow, and I joined them. Not without its risks, I know. And I had a car and could slip out if I needed to. My focus on gratitude is still really important and I took a couple of hours to do that.

What made the difference in utter avoidance and pleasurable acceptance? Me. I decided to make some changes and practice them. I did, it worked.

Everything will stay the same unless you choose the discomfort of change. That’s something I’m really good at helping people with. Keep that in mind as the rest of those holidays come up. Happy to help you throw yourself a “flotation device” if you’d like.
