TR-EQ and Power

July 16, 20251 min read

OK, so it’s self-serving to put the name of our model in the blog title. It’s still important to think about. Emotional Intelligence (EQ) can be used as a weapon against others easily. People who have higher levels of EQ can bully those who have less.

I think this happens--or is more likely to happen--when people haven’t considered power, it’s right use, and how the dynamics of power play out in different situations.

This is also where the “TR” part comes in. Because the misuse of power, knowledge and authority by one person against another is fundamental to an understanding of overwhelming experiences among people, becoming aware of the role of trauma in how we address power is crucial.

I don’t know of any models that take us there--except ours. And it does it in a way that helps you develop your understanding and use of power in a different way. It helps you also begin to master the process of both-and rather than either-or. You don’t have to be a wizard to think through how important this might be.
