Connection: The glue in resilience

Connection: The glue in resilience

February 15, 20231 min read

Sometimes the bounce in my bounce-back seems like it’s missing a spring. My friends are saying sort of the same thing--we just don’t get as much out of our self-care as we used to. We don’t feel as happy and carefree as we used to.

A couple of us old crones were chatting about it, some arguing for depression, some are just wore out, and a few saying we all needed more sleep. The one of us who’s pretty shy piped up and said, “Look how lively you all are just talking with each other! You need more connection.” And then she shrunk back into the wall.

I think she might be right. We needed to spark off of each other’s energy, connect with each other, be in the presence of all those microexpressions we miss on Zoom, and let those vibes among us glue us up a little.

How about you?
